The children were very glad to get back to school and started playing with each other right away.
Lots of small groups forming and reforming and lots of play.

Lots of investigating the toys and puzzles that are out.
Lots of discussion about how old they are all now.
Lots of discussion in general.
The pirate ships were very interesting.
And the kids were amazed that the furniture was rearranged. "How did the sensory table get moved all the way over there?!?"
Elaborate plans were hatched and acted out.
And lots of friends checked in with each other to see what had happened at each other's houses. (A common question was "Did you make a snowman at your house, too?"
